SEALBOSS-WATER-STOP-CRACK-INJECTION-LEAK-SEAL-INJECTION-GUIDELINEProduct Description

SealBoss 1403 SLV Resin is a low viscosity,  two component, hydrophobic MDI polyurethane resin based on MDI polyurethane chemistry. The product is 100% solids and solvent free. The gel time of the product can be decreased by adding a SealBoss 1400 Catalyst.

This high grade injection resin is designed for application in damp and dry cracks. Unlike water activated products,  SealBoss 1403 SLV Resin does not need any moisture for the reaction. The super low viscosity of 70 cps permits for excellent penetration into fine hairline cracks. Good adhesive properties and  product flexibility minimize formation of new cracks in the structure. The cured resin is inert to wet and dry cycles, it does not shrink or swell. SealBoss 1403 SLV Resin may slightly foam in contact with moisture in a pressure free environment. Under pressure SealBoss 1403 SLV Resin cures to a dense and flexible sealant. The product is non-corrosive and safe for use in combination with foils and joint strips. The product is an excellent finishing product for areas previously injected with expanding foam, where minor  leaks or dampness may persist.

Limitations: SealBoss 1403 SLV Resin is not designed to stop active water leaks. Larger amounts of water can dilute the product and reduce physical properties. Active leaks should be stopped first with SealBoss Water Stop Foam, PU Injection Grouts or SealBoss FlexGel. Ask your SealBoss technician for details. The product is for professional use.

Installation Guidelines

The mix ratio by volume is 1:1.  The product can be pumped with either single or two-component equipment. When used with single component pumps mix product thoroughly before applying. Be aware of the highly water reactive nature of the mixed material. Observe temperature and humidity of the environment, since both determine the pot-life of the premixed batch. Do not mix more material than the amount that will be pumped within reasonable time. Rule of thumb: High temperatures and high humidity decreased gel-time.

SealBoss 1500 Water Stop Foam reacts with the moisture in the structure and does not need large amounts of water to react. Simultaneous injection of water is typically not necessary. If the area of application seems to be completely dry, pre-injection of water may be recommended in some circumstances.

All equipment, pumps and hoses must be dry. Avoid moisture contact with the mixture to prevent premature reaction. If product foams while pumping, immediately shut down the machine and flush with a cleaner to avoid built up and clogging of the equipment.

SealBoss 1403 SLV Resin is supplied in separate containers with equal amounts of A and B component. The mixing ratio by volume is 1:1 (A:B). The material can be applied with suitable two-component or single component injection equipment.

Single component equipment users: Observe temperature and humidity of the environment, since both determine the pot life of the premixed batch. Do not mix more material than the amount that will be pumped within pot life window. Rule: High temperatures and high humidity shorten your gel time.

Using optional SealBoss 1400 Catalyst

By adding  1400 Catalyst to the clear A (!) side only, gel time can be reduced  from approximately 1 hour to approximately 20 minutes. Up to 5% of catalyst may be added by volume to achieve the shortest gel time.
Example of catalyst usage:
2 gal mixture (7.6 liters)
1% = approx. 2.5 fl oz or .07 liters
5% = approx. 12 fl oz or .35 liters

All equipment, pumps and hoses must be dry. Avoid moisture contact with the mixture to prevent premature reaction. If product foams while pumping, immediately shut down the machine and flush with a cleaner to avoid build up and clogging of the equipment.
